Just got back from our annual trip to Lake Garda in Italy.

This was the first year I used my walking stick there and was so impressed with the consideration and courtesy shown towards me. A German lady even helped me get out of my chair. A far cry from the experiences I get here at home, when people tend to virtually ignore you or shove you out of the way.

Hope the weather was kind to you in Italy. I would like to visit Lake Garda. Is it particularly
expensive ?

Glad the Germans helped you out. Great isn't when you are in a Foreign Country.

Take care

Hi Rose

I don't really have anything to compare it with as we always go to the same place. I think it's cheaper than Lake Como. We always go to Garda town- we found it in a brochure and have been going there ever since. We started out with a tour operator then found out it was cheaper to go independently. The flight from Gatwick to Verona cost about £150 each ( however we go in the school summer holidays when it is more expensive) then we get a taxi to the hotel- 60 euros each way but there is a cheaper shuttle service. There are hotels to suit a range of budgets- the one we stay in is 81 euros pp a night for half board in the peak season. I like Garda as it's nice and flat and closer to Verona which is a city I love. We avoid Malcesine as it's full of steep cobbled streets. As I said we always go in the school summer holidays, being a teacher, so unfortunately have to pay highter prices if we want to go in the Summer.

It really is a love;ly place.

Maria
